The Saugerties Lighthouse Conservancy
The Lighthouse is owned by the Saugerties Lighthouse Conservancy, a not-for-profit organization. The purpose of the Conservancy is to maintain and operate the Lighthouse for the benefit of the public as well as to educate visitors of the value and heritage of the treasured landmark of the Hudson River. The Conservancy is a membership-driven organization that thrives with the help and involvement of the community. Find out more about how you can help here.
Mission
The mission of the Conservancy includes:
- To restore, enhance, conserve, maintain and operate the Saugerties Lighthouse for the cultural, physical, spiritual and economic benefit of our residents and visitors.
- To educate the general public as to the importance, value and heritage of the Saugerties Lighthouse.
- To conduct research, provide services and cooperate with competent authorities to investigate and report on the Saugerties Lighthouse, its surrounding environment and natural resources and to disseminate the research findings.
- To conduct programs and workshops on various subjects pertaining to the Saugerties Lighthouse, the surrounding environment, natural resources, conservation and the problems connected therewith.

The board meets on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Village Hall in Saugerties, NY. This meeting is open to the public.
