Fishing

The concrete pier and wooden dock are popular fishing spots at the lighthouse. Anglers often catch bass, perch, and eel. A fishing license is NOT required on this section of the Hudson River. A fishing license IS required on the Esopus Creek by anyone 16 years or older. While fishing, please be considerate of other visitors and keep the area clean. Properly dispose of fishing line and tackle. Please use non-lead alternatives for sinkers and jig heads.
