Volunteer Training & Luncheon

The Saugerties Lighthouse Conservancy is seeking volunteers who are willing to contribute a few afternoons this summer to guide tours through the inside of the lighthouse. Tours are offered Saturday & Sunday afternoon, 12 noon to 3 PM, throughout the summer from Memorial Day Weekend through mid-September. Volunteers act as docents for visitors by sharing the history of the lighthouse and showcasing the preservation efforts. Spend a summer afternoon at the lighthouse! Guided tours of the lighthouse interior are offered on summer weekends, 12 NOON-3 PM. Otherwise, tours are by appointment only. Call the lighthouse keeper for details: 845-247-0656.

Between the Tides Festival 2008

Sunday, August 24th. 2PM-7PM.

The Saugerties Lighthouse Conservancy announces their annual music festival at the lighthouse. The festival is a family-friendly, all-ages event that supports the continued preservation of the lighthouse. Celebrate the Hudson River and the historic Saugerties Lighthouse, a landmark of the Hudson River Valley. Enjoy live music, dancing, food, and drinks. Swimming available north of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is open for tours of the interior during the festival. The festival is scheduled "between the tides" so that the 1/2-mile trail to the lighthouse is passable throughout the event. Tickets: $20.00/person, $35/couple, $15.00 for seniors, children under 12 are free.

Schedule an event

The Lighthouse is available on a limited basis for private events such as birthday celebrations. No weddings. The adjacent island has ample room for parties with benches and picnic tables. An outdoor barbecue grill is available for use as well as modest kitchen facilities in the lighthouse. Call 845-247-0656 to discuss your event plans with the lighthouse keeper.
