Yesterday morning, the crane barge Delaware Bay arrived at Magdalen Island. The crane is equipped with a clamshell dredge to remove the fill from the grounded hopper barge. It was accompanied by an empty hopper barge to receive the fill with the tugboat Mary Alice. According to a report from our downstream neighbor Dock, the recovery effort is expected to take a week.
